In the heart of Berlin, Holmberg develops and produces electro-acoustic devices for professional use. Worldwide, Holmberg products are known under the brand name HOLMCO for their excellent speech intelligibility and reliability.

At Holmberg, dynamic transducers, microphones, headsets, handsets and control units are created using the highest quality standards. Our customers come from the aviation, rail, public safety, control center technology and logistics sectors as well as the navy.

Founding of the company in Berlin by the Swedish businessman Arwid Holmberg from Malmö.

Takeover of Holmberg by Herbert Pöppel, who handed over the family business to his son Lutz-Michael Pöppel. Today, the company is managed in the third generation by Thorsten Pöppel.

Development of the first HOLMCO transducer, which paved the way for the development of microphones, headsets and handsets.

Since 1957, Holmberg has been impressing with products in aviation and is an officially approved and licensed aviation company.

Holmberg moves into the former Bechstein building in Berlin's Ohlauer Straße, which remains the headquarters of our company today.

Development of the first control station for use in control centers.

Lutz-Michael Pöppel becomes Managing Partner of Holmberg GmbH & Co. KG and continues the tradition of the successful family business.

Initial certification by the Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrtbundesamt): Maintenance Part-145.

We celebrate 75 years of Holmberg GmbH & Co. KG.

Initial certification by the Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrtbundesamt): Production Part 21G.

Acquisition of the handset division of Albert Ackermann GmbH & Co. KG.

Holmberg becomes the main supplier to Airbus for cockpit headsets and cockpit microphones. In the same year, Holmberg successfully introduces the management system according to DIN EN ISO 9100.

The first digital handset for aviation is developed for the Airbus A380. Holmberg receives the Lilienthal Prize for its development in 2004.

Thorsten Pöppel, the son of Lutz-Michael Pöppel, joins Holmberg and works in the Finance department before becoming Managing Director of Holmberg GmbH & Co. KG in 2010.

Holmberg achieves record sales of 11 million EUR for the first time and records the highest order intake to date in the same year. In the same year, Holmberg celebrates 50 years of aviation with the anniversary of the 57 microphone.

100 employees work at Holmberg.

Thorsten Pöppel takes over the position of Managing Partner at Holmberg GmbH & Co. KG.

Development of the robust Milan microphone speaker specifically for use by police and fire departments.

Development of a tap-proof Bluetooth headset for control centers. In the same year, the ComKit II is developed, a headset specifically for breathing masks for firefighters.

100-year company anniversary of Holmberg GmbH & Co. KG. In the same year, we receive the initial certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001.

Holmberg is more successful than ever and achieves a sales record of 30 million EUR in 2024.

Development of a dynamic transducer and a gooseneck microphone for use in a headset used in extremely harsh environments.

Holmberg employs 200 people at its location in Berlin and has expanded its premises in Ohlauer Straße.

Customizings

Our vertical range of manufacture extends from the transducer to the complete device. We develop the required software ourselves. This allows us to react quickly and flexibly to customer requirements and adapt our standard products individually to the respective task. Thus, we are able to supply customer-specific solutions to measure and also to manufacture small quantities.
