Digital Handset for Aircraft CIDS
The N40 Digital series digital handsets are part of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System (CIDS), the cabin management system in Airbus aircrafts. The handsets enable communication between flight attendants, with the cockpit, and passenger announcements. Currently, N40 Digital handsets are in use on Airbus A350 and A380; in the future, they will also be used in the A320 family and A220 along with the introduction of iCMP, the successor system to CIDS.
The connections between the handset, coiled cable, and cradle are pluggable. This allows individual components to be easily replaced. The entire system is highly flexible and modular: the devices are available in several colors and with various cable lengths.
