EcoVadis Silver 2025

Holmberg has been registered with the EcoVadis platform since 2021. In addition to our environmental management system, we use this tool to continuously improve our social and ethical sustainability performance.

Each year, EcoVadis surveys and evaluates our activities in the categories of Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

This is how we ensure that HOLMCO acts responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with rules in every area of the company. We take responsibility for our environment and face the challenges of a sustainable future every day. We therefore establish our environmental targets in our environmental program and manage them actively. With a structured approach, we sustainably improve our environmental performance and ensure compliance with legal regulations.

Certification according to DIN EN ISO 14001

In 2019, we established an effective environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001. Since then, we have been continuously reviewing and improving our environmental and sustainability performance.

Thanks to this structured approach, we consistently ensure compliance with legal regulations.

EU Climate Targets

Holmberg records its greenhouse gas emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol to make progress transparent and to derive effective measures for emission reduction. In doing so, we make an active contribution to the European climate targets: 55% emission reduction by 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050.

  • At least a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions compared to 2021
  • Average annual emission reduction of 4.7%

SBTi Validation

Our climate targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This confirms that Holmberg is following a science-based reduction path in line with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement.

Together with our partners – including the BDLI – we are actively working to advance climate targets in the aerospace industry.

The SBTi is a global partnership of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), UN Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI), and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

We are supplied with electricity that comes 100% from renewable energy. We therefore received a climate protection certificate in 2023 from LichtBlick, one of the largest pure green electricity providers in Europe.

Product Lifecycle and Supply Chain

Our commitment does not end at our company borders. We consider the entire product lifecycle and actively involve our suppliers and customers.

Minimizing Energy and Resource Consumption

We already pay attention to sustainability during the development of our products. Our devices are manufactured with the lowest possible impact on the environment. The avoidance of environmentally harmful substances is a high priority for us. Within the company, we strengthen the environmental awareness of our employees through open communication.

Reduction of Material Consumption and Waste Generation

We ensure the longevity and a high lifecycle for our products. Through the repair of our products, we ensure their longevity and a high lifecycle. Individual parts that no longer meet our or the customer’s requirements after prolonged operation are replaced, thus extending the lifespan of our products. We reduce the resulting waste and conserve valuable resources, as the entire products do not have to be disposed of prematurely.

Disposal and Recycling

Products that cannot be repaired or defective individual parts are sent by us for professional disposal and recycling. Holmberg works exclusively with specialized waste management companies that guarantee professional disposal and recycle ingredients.

Sustainable Supply Chain Management

Our suppliers and service providers share our values. Through regular discussions, we pass on our environmental ideas. We ship using environmentally friendly packaging materials that can be reused or recycled.

Compliance with EU Directives

Within the framework of European directives and regulations 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), 2023/1542/EU on batteries and accumulators, and 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste, we also contribute to a functioning circular economy system.
